clock March 29, 2009 22:30 by author Matt Way

They were taken by photography student Ed Smith during a training session with Cornwall Search and Rescue Team and show Joe's banner, suspended from the team stretcher, approx 150 feet above the sea near Cligga

Pat Moret, Deputy Team Leader, said "We wanted to do something special to mark the coming anniversary of Joe's death and as a thank you to Hendra Holidays for supporting the team in the past. This was one of the best locations we could find and takes some beating."

The banner was taken to Mont Blanc at 2850m above sea level (peak between Val Thorens and Meribel Mottaret ski valleys) and was displayed up in the mountain slopes as well Jon taking the banner down a slope which meant skiing without his poles

Precious Lives appeal travels 5000km from Cornwall to Lanzarote

clock March 29, 2009 22:12 by author Matt Way

Joe's family, auntie and grandparents travelled back to Lanzarote where they went last four years ago on Joe’s last holiday out of Cornwall.

The rep who was looking after the family spoke to Matt about Joe and how his banner has already travelled around the UK, Portugal and Cuba

steve was very moved after looking at Joe’s website and having three children himself so a boat was organised to take another diving instructor Josean and a holiday maker David Watkins who was on holiday from Yorkshire to take Joes banner on a 20 meter dive under the sea.

Anybody who is interested in diving in Lanzarote or any business who would like to sponsor or give technical support to this project can call Richard on 00 34 928349346 (is this correct) or email rich@rubicondiving.com who will also promote the Precious Lives appeal and Joe’s story
