Our Story - Page 4

Over the next 18 months Joe's health deteriorated and Joe needed more and more treatment.

In July 2007 Joes lungs where increasing weak and he became more dependant on VPAP (home ventilation) and constant antibiotics.

In between our adventure with Joe and Meg we decide to have Finn who was born on the 13th March 2008. For us we had become a complete family which was important as we knew Joe was life limited.

Social workers and Joint agency meetings where important and the equipment to help him kept arriving to ensure we could care for him at Home and minimise the hospital visits.

We had night and day respite care at Home but Joe was always to poorly to make it to Little Bridge House which is the children’s hospice in Devon.

It is critical to ensure life limited children get this support in Cornwall. We took Joe to as many places as possible and although he always needed oxygen, special feeds and a huge amount of drugs he made the best of the last two years.

We have so many friends who where inspired by Joe as he never cried always had a smile and could make you feel better with one hug even though he had so many daily problems to fight with.

Joe was born on the 5th September 2003 and passed away in our arms on the 7th May 2008 with great love and admiration.
