AZTEC GEARS UP TO START A CHARITY CHALLENGE
Newquay
based recruitment agency, Aztec Recruitment have teamed up with the Joe Way Appeal
and from the 24th of November Aztec’s Recruitment Consultants will be stepping into
their temps shoes for a day at businesses across the county to help raise cash for
this very worth while charity.
Aztec plan to run a 3 month long campaign to help maximise the money they can raise
for the appeal. It was set up in memory of Joe Way who is the inspirational little
boy who passed away in May and has touched people's lives around the country
and beyond. His website, www.joeway.co.uk has been set up to tell his story, raise
awareness of his conditions, and to help raise money for Children's Hospice
South West's Precious Lives Appeal to build a children's hospice in Cornwall.
Aztec
is the only Recruitment agency in the Newquay area. Over the past nine years it
has grown from strength to strength and is proud to announce that all of its consultants
recently passed their Certificate in Recruitment Practice (CertRP). Over the next
few months the staff at Aztec will be pulling out all of the stops to get business
across the county to join in on their exciting campaign which is hoped to raise
a healthy sum for the charity.
Rebecca Wilton, Managing Director at Aztec Recruitment says, “With all of the doom
and gloom of the credit crunch around us at the minute, the team and I thought it
was about time we did something to help raise moral. It is really hoped that this
is a fun campaign where we get lots of people involved and raise as much money as
possible.”
Matt Way says, ”we where thrilled when we got the call from Aztec as this is an
exciting way of raising money and will bring Joe’s story to so many new people”

DVD donation to raise money for Precious lives in memory of Joe Way
We
have just had a 8 minute DVD made telling Joe’s story using TV and radio interviews
as well as video and photos.
This has been edited to a professional standard and will be used at corporate fundraising,
School events and other fundraising events as well as featuring on Joe’s website.
Scott Dickinson a family friend who designs Joes posters and banners spent hours
editing the photo’s and video to match in with a radio interview Joe’s Dad did for
BBC radio Cornwall he has also put on some extras of other TV interviews and photo
slide shows.
Claire Joe’s mum said “it’s very powerful to watch but as always with Joe’s story
you feel inspired to do something positive rather than sad”.
150 copies have been donated by Mitch Adams, Director of Three S Films Ltd and the
printed inserts have been donated by Jamie at P&J Print who have been with the
Joe Way launch right from the start providing posters and media material.
Mitch
Said “I was very touched and inspired when I read about Joe at www.joeway.co.uk
. Life can be a tremendous struggle at times and the strength Joe showed gives us
all hope. Having lost my mum prematurely to illness myself and embarked on various
fund raising exercises for St Julia’s Hospice I know how important it is. I was
only too happy to help with the DVD duplication”.
P&J print from Newquay printed all the case covers and as always have been very
excited to be part of a new way to get Joe’s story out there.
The three main businesses from Newquay area P&J print, SWESCO signs, IT-OK and
Three S Films from Penzance all have their logo’s in the film and on the case as
supporters of the Joe’s story.

already, its very exciting”.

Joe Way takes environmental green initiatives whilst raising funds
We
have ensured that our fundraising will not impact the environment with the following
initiatives:
98% of our correspondence is done by email and all our printing which is donated
by P&J Print from Newquay is done using recycled paper.
Ian Chambers from IT-OK said "Using good coding techniques and
optimisation on the site means an increase in visitors which communicates Joe's
story to masses of people all around the world”.
Joe’s website has also partnered up with Newquay based Bio Travel who are incorporating
Joes logo on their vehicles as well as using their BTV are advertising the website
via their on board vehicles TV advertising.
Bio Travel is currently operating its fleet on a varying mixture of sustainably
sourced biodiesel and mineral diesel. During winter months, the mixture is no less
than 50/50. In the summer months the biodiesel content increases up to
90%. This helps to avoid problems associated with biodiesel
and temperature.
Bio Travel has recently had its first (test) vehicle converted to run on 100% vegetable
oil. If the technology proves successful, the rest of the fleet will be converted.
The oil will be sourced from all of the hotels and restaurants within Cornwall,
and purified in-house using our specially designed processing plant. This will make
our fuel about as sustainable as you can get!
The directors of Bio Travel do not come from within the transport industry. We have
an ex-pro kite surfer, a mountain boarding instructor/primary school teacher, a
beach ranger and ecology specialist and a kite surfing instructor.
This means that we think differently to other transport companies. We have a 'why
not?' attitude when it comes to trying new ideas and any problems only help
us to operate better in the future. Our fresh perspective and views on service levels
have helped to make Bio travel the most professional passenger transport company
in Cornwall.
Tim Uff from Bio travel said “ Biotravel are very happy to support the Joe Way charity,
we carry tens of thousands of passengers every year, and through our DVD advertising
and car stickers we will help to get this important message across to a multitude
of people”.
Matt Way (Joes Dad) said “We also have a DVD which will be 9 minutes long explaining
about Joe’s story which can be used at presentations again this will save on paper
and reach more people”.
The children in need and Joe Way event on at The Glendorgal Resort and Spa was used
to launch the www.joeway.co.uk and Precise Lives bags for life which have been donated
to raise money for Precious Lives in memory of Joe.
Richard
Bower MBE from Jutexpo South West said “Jutexpo South West and Hot Dog Decals are
proud to be associated with such a wonderful and worthwhile charity as the Children’s
Hospice South West, Precious Lives appeal and the Joe Way appeal and wish them all
the luck and good fortune in the world in their attempts to raise valuable funds
for this new and necessary facility for Cornwall”.
He added “In providing our jute bags with the highly distinctive logo’s of the two
charities we hope that everyone will dig deep into their pockets and purchase a
jute shopping bag and feel proud to use them in the high street or wherever they
are in order to publicize the initiative even further”.
David Bellamy OBE the English Botanist, author, broadcaster, and
environmental campaigner looked at Joe’s website after talking to Joe’s Dad Matt
Way who is the Park Manager at Hendra Holiday Park which holds’s a David Bellamy
gold award.
Professor Bellamy said " Log on to www.joeway.co.uk and rejoice in the hope
for that winning smile, we all live in a wonderful world. Share this story"

Lives Appeals is a simple step you can take which could have such a huge impacts;
and the efforts being taken to make sure that the environmental impacts of the campaigns
are part and parcel of the efforts of such a committed team is a blinding example
of how we should all be operating. Just log on – it’s easy; it’s important; it will
make a huge difference. Thank you! “
